Youngsters enthrall with soulful notes

Youngsters rendered Annamacharya keertanas consummately at the Sangeetha Sammelanam held at Satya Sai Nigamagamam on Sunday.The talent show for young students was organised by Saran Incorporation and Bhavan’s Public School. The participants, all from Bhavan’s School, mesmerised the audience. Annamacharya keertanas rendered by Master Anudeep Adiraju, Master Prachethan and Master Prabhat awed the gathering. They held the audience in rapt attention with their soulful numbers.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan vice-chairman S Gopala Krishnan appreciated the youngsters for their interest and industry in learning traditional music. The talent show, titled ‘Young Fusion’, began with Anudeep Adiraju, a Class X student, performing ‘Narayanathee namo namo’ keerthana. He followed it up with a series of Annamayya keerthanas like ‘Ahobileswarudu’, ‘Indariki Abhayamichu’, ‘Anthayu Paramathmudu’ and ‘Kadilenu Narasimhudu’.

He received several rounds of applause from the gathering. A 33-strong troupe performed a musical jugalbandi, fusion of Carnatic and Western notes, and took the tempo of the evening to its crescendo. Other keerthans, ‘oka pari oka pari’ by Master Prabhat and ‘Nagumomu’ by Master Prachethan won the admiration of the
gathering.

Anudeep performed the complex range of Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna – Thillana – which enthralled the people present. Later, Anudeep told media persons that he had been learning Carnatic music from D V Mohana Krishna for the past 10 years. He was recently honoured with ‘Kalabharati’ award by well-known music director Madhavapeddi Satyam.
